Project description

An extended-reach horizontal well was drilled and completed in the Permian Basin, West Texas, with the objective of accessing a previously undrained reservoir compartment located beneath an existing field. The well was designed with a measured depth of over 25,000 feet, including a 10,000-foot horizontal section targeting the Wolfcamp A formation. Advanced rotary steerable systems and managed pressure drilling techniques were employed to maintain wellbore stability and optimize rate of penetration across multiple geological formations. Real-time geosteering enabled precise placement within a 15-foot target zone, maximizing reservoir contact. The drilling program was completed 12 days ahead of schedule and 18% under budget, with zero safety incidents recorded during the 94-day operation.
